TECEdrainline shower channels free the bathroom from disturbing separations such as the shower trays and cubicles and allow a uniform floor design.
This produces accessible bathrooms with a generous character – real space for living.
Demands are increasingly being placed on the bathroom to function as a living space. Shower channels create floor-level shower areas – therefore useable space. The technology is perfectly integrated in the floor – in both new and renovated buildings: The intelligent drainage technology, which meets all hygiene requirements, remains invisible.
With shower channel covers made of glass, TECE opts for fine materials in the bathroom.
Loadable despite its transparent appearance: The safety glass sits on a particularly robust stainless steel support.
Like the “plate” tileable channel, the glass cover forms an enclosed surface that can be inserted into the bathroom floor. Shower water drains away via a narrow drain opening along the long sides of the cover.
TECE offers the glass cover in standard colours green, black and white. The safety glass with rounded edges is permanently fixed to the underlying stainless steel grid by means of a special adhesive.
The colour of the glass cover matches the glass covers of the TECEloop and TECEsquare flush plates. Available in the colours white, green and black.

Stainless steel is a typical material in the bathroom: authentic, permanent and conveying a sense of value. Stainless steel grates are available in different patterns, bright polished or matt brushed.
The grates are available in polished or brushed stainless steel.

Thanks to the “plate” tileable channel, the shower channel can be perfectly fitted into the flooring.
The solid construction of the TECEdrainline shower channel enables especially small drainage slots. The tileable channel is also available for the angled channel in various sizes.
Fine natural stone floors transform bathrooms into true temples of wellness.
The less the floor is broken up by joints or drainage elements, the more high-quality and roomier the space feels.
Specially for thisrequirement TECE expanded its shower channel modular system by a channel for large, natural stone slabs and tiles of any thickness. When installed and covered, the shower channel is completely invisible. Small stainless steel edges bordered the drain opening before, but now nothing except a slit is visible in the natural stone.
With TECEdrainline shower channels, there is no need for shower tubs, or (for the most part) separating walls: As a result, the shower area no longer has to comply to standard dimensions, and individual architectural factors can be taken into account.
A unified floor design thus conveys a feeling of generous spaciousness.

TECEdrainline shower channels open up new design options in bathroom architecture – and bathroom planners can take advantage of this new freedom. In this way, not only stainless steel shower channels can be installed between the wet and dry areas, but also for example, directly at the wall.
Installation close to the wall of the TECEdrainline in “steel” grate design: A mere 1-2% gradient towards the wall is enough to direct the water into the shower channel.
Standard installation of TECEdrainline at the entrance area to the shower as a transition from the wet area to the dry area with the “quadratum“ grate pattern.
Another option is the use of an angled channel.
Installation of two parallel shower channels, here in the “steel” design.

The TECEdrainline range includes five drains for different requirements and structural features.
The special sealing concept employed with the TECEdrainline shower channel ensures installation is reliable and easy. Use of the supplied Seal System sealing tape makes the permanent and safe connection of the shower channel to the composite seal possible.
This has been tested and certified by an independent testing institute. You can find more information on the Seal System as well as the certificates at www.sealsystem.net.
The fitter carries out channel positioning and drain-side installation here. The installation in screed and the formation of the seals are done by the screed layer or tiler.
The channel body is made of stainless steel with no gaps or screws; that means it is easy to clean and particularly hygienic. The dip rod can simply be removed for cleaning purposes.
The drain nozzle has been designed so that its possible to clean with a manual pipe cleaner.
The closed channel body ensures that the water is carried safely to the drain. Dirty shower water cannot be drawn under the tiles.
Demographic changes have led to the increased demand for barrier-free homes. A disability, an accident or ageing: There are numerous reasons for why people can be restricted in their mobility or have the need for a wheelchair. It is important for them that public buildings but especially their own four walls are so equipped that they can move inside them without any issues.
The TECEdrainline makes a life without bumps and steps possible in the shower area. The floor-level shower channel makes it easier to get into the shower area.
The Drainbase sound insulation mat ensures the effective insulation of sound in the shower area for installation with the TECEdrainline shower channel. The positive sound insulation properties are attested to by a sound insulation certificate. The normal shower setting therefore results in an installation noise level of 22 db(A). The mat is extremely tough, the compression at 15t/m² is thus a maximum of 10 %. This thus prevents the screed from subsequently sinking. The Drainbase consists of sturdy rubber granulate bonded with PUR elastomers using recycled materials.
A current test by the Fraunhofer IBP confirms that TECEdrainline structures with Drainbase sound insulation mats exceed the requirements of DIN 4109 und VDI 4100. This was tested in a structure using the “plate” tile channel and the “flat” drain. The channel over the Drainbase sound insulation mat on the floor of the structural shell was installed with assembly feet. The drain and the channel were completely underlined with screed grout here. According to the measurements taken by the Fraunhofer IBP, the installation noise level for this structure is just 22 dB(A).
DIN 4109 and VDI 4100 stipulate a minimum requirement for the installation noise level between separate residences of 30 dB(A) and an increased requirement of 25 dB(A). All three sound insulation levels are thus adhered to.In another test, a mineral fibre impact noise insulation layer was laid over the sound insulation mat. The measurements taken by the Fraunhofer IBP resulted in an installation noise level of just 12 dB(A) here. This means TECEdrainline not only qualified for standard residential construction, but also for special high-quality projects in which residents can find a high degree of quiet.
